Did You Know...

There is Someone who cares for you and cares what happens to you.
There is Someone who cares about your problems and is always there to help you.
There is Someone who loves you so much, He died for you.

In the beginning, God and man walked and talked together in the Garden of Eden.  When sin entered the world, the relationship between God and man was torn.  God promised to send a Savior into the world so the relationship between Himself and man could be restored.  God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, the Messiah, to this earth to show man just how much He loves him.  Jesus died on the cross for your sins and for mine so that we could have a relationship with Him and live forever with Him in Heaven.

God loves you so much - He created you in His own image.

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them."  Genesis 1:27 NIV

Our sin separated us from God.  What exactly is sin?  Sin is choosing to disobey God and doing what you want to do.   Everyone is born a sinner and separated from God.  The penalty of sin is death.

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."  Romans 3:23 NIV

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."  Romans 6:23 NIV

God loves you and wants to save you from your sin.  He wants to offer you life and hope.  So, if you are born a sinner, separated from God, and have a death penalty, how do you escape punishment and begin a relationship with God?  God sent his one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for you.  Because Jesus never sinned, He is the only one who can take the punishment of your sins.

"For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men."  I Timothy 2:5-6a NIV

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."  Romans 5:8 NIV

"...Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures..."  I Corinthians 15:3-4 NIV

When God gave His Son to die on the cross for your sins, it was a gift which we call Salvation.  Salvation cannot be earned or bought.  It is a free gift of God for YOU!  Salvation is a relationship with God and the gift of eternal life in heaven.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.  Ephesians 2:8 NIV

So, Salvation is a gift of God.  How do you receive this most precious gift?  You receive it by faith - trusting God to forgive your sins and to bring you into a relationship with Him.

"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."   Romans 10:9 NIV

"...Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved..."  Acts 16:31 NIV

"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God."  John 1:12 NIV

If you are now choosing to believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, and want to accept God's offer of the free gift of Salvation, please pray this simple prayer:

"Dear God, I know that I'm a sinner.  I believe Jesus died on the cross to forgive my sins.  I invite you to come into my heart and life.  I trust Jesus to forgive me of all my sin right now - thank you for forgiving me.  Thank you for loving me and for giving me eternal life.  From this moment forward, I choose to follow You - please help me to do this.  In Jesus name, Amen."

If you just prayed this prayer, share it with someone.  You are now a child of God.

"But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.  They are reborn!   This is not a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan - this rebirth comes from God."  John 1:13-14 NLT
